Peter has spent the early days of spring collecting wild flower leaves and seedheads to make shadowgrams. In this process, the oldest photographic technique, objects (in this case the skeletons of Chinese lantern heads) are placed onto watercolour paper that has been coated with cyanotype solution. The paper is exposed to sunlight and then washed in water. What remains is the image. In this case Peter has reversed the process to create a blue outline on white rather than the usual white outline on blue.
